Privacy & Policy
In general, the privacy of all communications between a client and a counselor are protected by law and cannot be disclosed without the client’s written consent or in the case of a minor without the written consent of his/her parent or legal guardian under the age of 13 in the State of Washington.
There are exceptions to confidentiality which include but are not limited to:
- If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult.
- If there is a potential threat of harm to another person.
- If there is a potential risk the client intends to harm himself or herself.
